DIAPASONの183-Eの外装が完了しました。写真の順番が前後していますが、朝は昨日残したキャプスタンを磨いて、パテ埋めした個所をきれいに整えてバフがけ。その他は手で汚れ落としをしました。基本的に大きな傷が少なくやりやすかったです。

本来このピアノは外装と内部クリーニングだけで完了させるつもりでしたが、やっているうちにとことんきれいにしたくなったのと、ハンマーヘッドの溝が思ったより深かったのでオーバーホールすることにしました。弦も、ハンマーも全部交換します。ビフォーアフターはまた後ほどご紹介します。

Refurbishing is complete.  Cleaning the capstan screws in the morning and the cabinet in the afternoon.  There wasn’t much damages on the surface so this work was mostly done by hand cleaning.

My first plan for this piano was just to clean the finish and inside.  But as the work proceeds and the cabinet got cleaned, I thought it would be better to restring so inside would look more beautiful, and since the hammer heads are worn, I would replace them as well.  I will show on this weblog how the piano is changing.
