I had a customer’s home piano tuning. This is the first grand piano I restored after founded my shop in 2009. The lady who is a big fan of classical music takes care of the piano nicely, such as keeping the humidity around 50% all time. That keeps the strings have less rust and sound board is very active. As a result, the piano sound with rich sustain. This is a great piano.

Returning to the shop work. Remaining old coats are removed. On the other hand, the body is almost ready for restringing. Both work will be proceeding simultaneously. This is where the fun begins.

本日はお客様のお宅でグランドピアノの調律でした。南国ピアノ芸術として初めてオーバーホールしたピアノです。弦、ハンマーともに絶好調。弦錆びもほとんどありません。お客様が除湿など大切にピアノのケアをしている賜物でしょう。ほどよく乾いたピアノは木そのものが軽く、響板もよく振動します。

工房に戻ってショップワーク。塗装剥離作業の残りを終わらせました。本体は張弦の準備がほぼ整っています。吹き付けと本体の組み立てを代わる代わる進めていくことになります。
