お伺いしたお客様のグランドピアノ。20年は経過したピアノですが、まだまだ現役で良い音を出してくれます。オーバーホールの必要もまだまだ無しです。

A customer’s grand piano.  It’s over 20 years old but still fine beautiful sound.  No need for restoration yet.

ただ、どうしても吸湿はしてしまっているので、アクション内部の摩擦除去などのお手入れは欠かせません。結局湿気って、ニューヨークのスタインウェイ工場でも除湿しているし、ドイツの部品メーカーでもそういった湿度対策の商品を取りそろえているので世界中どこでも悩みの種なのかもしれないですね。何も沖縄や日本だけが悪いわけではないと信じたいです。

However, the piano is unfortunately humidified so I had to remove friction in the piano action.　　I suppose humidity is problem almost everywhere in the world.  Steinway NY factory has dehumidifying system and a German piano parts supplier lists lubrication materials.  Humidity suffers pianos not only in Okinawa.

鍵盤蓋がものすごくきれいでほとんど傷がありませんでした。ポリエステル塗装だからというのもあるでしょうけど、こんなきれいな状態で保存できるってすごいです。教わりたいくらい。

This piano has very beautiful fall board.  Maybe because finished with polyester that is very thick and tough.  But anyway, it is great to keep the piano shiny like this.
