鍵盤上面をバフがけしました。年季の入ったピアノなので、表面の爪跡がしっかり残っていて落とすのが大変です。同じメーカーでもピアノの製造時期によって使っている素材が変わっているので、作業方法も弱冠変わってきます。このピアノは比較的傷が落ちやすい反面、柔らかいのか割れやすい傾向にあると思いました。また、黒鍵はどのピアノにも共通していることですが、意外に汚れを落とすのが大変です。しかしきれいになった黒鍵は白鍵とのコントラストが見事でとてもきれいです。

鍵盤が出来上がったら、いよいよ内部の作業に入ります。

Buffing keytops.  It is an over 40 years old piano that has a lot of nail scratches on the keytops. Depending on the piano’s age, although the same manufacturer, the materials are a little different each other.  So the way of buffing changes as well.  In the case of this piano, the key tops are slightly softer than the others.  This means the scratches are easier to clean, but tends to break easily.  It is common that black keys are dirty, but they are beautiful in contrast with white keys.
