事務デスクを新調しました。

これはもともとアップライトピアノだったものです。改造して机に生まれ変わりました。

蓋をあけると鍵盤があります。ペダルも動きます。譜面台が隙間に収まらなかったのでこれが課題となりました。何とか楽譜を置く環境を作らなければ！音は出ません。消音機を導入すれば電子ピアノにはなると思います。

今回このデスクを作ったのは、無音鍵盤を作りたかったという動機が始まりです。その昔、外国には音が出ないピアノというのがあって、ピアノ教室での待ち時間にイメージトレーニングや運指の練習用として使われていたようです。日本では、持ち運び可能な無音鍵盤を見たことがあります。特注だったのか、量産していたのかはわかりません。

本来、ピアノ技術者である以上、私にとってピアノとは調律したり修理したりして、楽器として最善の状態にするものであり、今回のように壊して別のものとしてリユースするのは本望ではありませんでした。ただこのピアノに出会ったときに、弦はほとんど断線、ハンマーはほぼすべてパンクという状態だったので、投資した分の対価を得る見込みがありませんでした。残念ながら商売ですので、あきらめるという結果になりましたが、一つの実験としては有意義だったと思います。

さて、遊び心はここまでにして、いよいよ本格的にお仕事を始めます。

An upright piano has been arranged to a desk.  In my policy, any piano can be repaired, but particularly this one was so bad shape.  I figured the selling price wouldn’t be able to be equal to the investment.  So I decided to use the piano in a different way.

The purpose was to make this not only as a desk, but also as a silent keyboard.  I used to hear there were piano in the old time that the keys move but produce no sound.  It was in order to practice while waiting, while another student was taking a lesson.

So this one, too, the keys move but no sound.  I think I can install Magic Star to make it an electric piano, but it is not what I want.  

This is just an experiment, and the desk is not for sale.  I think I enjoyed but spent too much time on non-business work!!  Now’s the time to get back to reality.
